On April 17, residents of McHenry County will go to the polls. Among the races will be an opportunity to elect 3 new school board members for McHenry School District #15.

This past year has been a stormy time District #15. 

  • The District finally passed a tax referendum, after many threats from the current School Board and District.
  • School District Superintendent, Dr. Alan Hoffman received a nearly 8% pay raise after the referendum passed.
  • Plans were announced for a residential development project in Wonder Lake which will add roughly 3500 homes to the area. Many, if not most, of the children in these homes will attend School District #15 schools.

In these tumultuous times, we have an opportunity to elect a School Board member who will work to make sure that the children of School District #15 get the best education possible and who will vote to ensure that the School District will “live within its means” just as the parents and taxpayers of District #15 do in their everyday lives.
